Angelic Messages for You

Notice: Undefined index: category_below_content in /home/julia329/public_html/wp-content/plugins/shareaholic/public.php on line 381

Hi, I am so excited to be entering a new phase of my life. As most of you know I have been through some major life changes in the last 18 months and have been searching for direction.

Don’t you just love those “Ahha” moments when everything clicks into place and you know what it is you are her to do.

A lot of you who know me may know that apart from my photography my other passions included Reiki (I am a Reiki master), aromatherapy, crystals, crystal readings and reflexology.

From as young as I can remember I have always had psychic abilities, however at that time I just assumed everyone did. It wasn’t until my late teens that I became aware that I was different from a lot of other people.

I couldn’t believe that everyone didn’t see angels and didn’t have an intimate relationship with the Divine.

It made me sad to realize that so many people struggled through this world alone unaware of the help and comfort that was available to them.

Never alone

angels always watching over us

At first I tried to share it with others through religion, but I then realized that religion was man made, God wasn’t. However when I used the word God people automatically think you are religious so what was the answer.

My son, now in his early 30s asked me how I would describe the being I called God or the Divine. I described him and he said oh you mean “Love-Light Man.”

I loved this because that is exactly how I had experienced the Divine, a being of unconditional love and light. Total love and total acceptance.

I wanted a way to share the help I had received with others but the help I got was for me and my situation, how could I help them in their situations.

I had used Angel Oracle Cards for years for myself and doing readings for friends and I realized this was a way I could deliver messaged and show people the help that was available for them in their situation.

I undertook a number Angel Oracle Training classes and realized this was what I was meant to do.

So you will see my website now shows the name Angelic Messages for you and Photography by Julia K Harwood.

I have always seen my art and photography as bringing healing into peoples lives, this is just adding another layer to that.

This is quite a long post so I will leave it there….but stay in touch…good things are coming…..

Digital Art

Notice: Undefined index: category_below_content in /home/julia329/public_html/wp-content/plugins/shareaholic/public.php on line 381

There has been much talk about digital art and what it is and if it is a legitimate art form.

Recently someone took someone else’s work added a few basic adjustments, such as contrast, brightness etc and entered the work in a competition as their own. This is obviously not an acceptable thing to do.

With my digital art, I take a series of images that I have shot or have the rights to use and then combine the layers. Most of my pieces have over 30 layers in them, most are over 100. This is a combination of images, textures and grunge effects. Most of my pieces are done over many, many hours, often days and weeks. This is what I refer to as digital art.

I have found it a great release for me and it has really drawn me out of my comfort zone and I have been able to create pieces that express deep meaning.

You can see some of my work here

You can learn how to do this kind of art here.

This is a piece I did on always being watched over, even in the traumatic times of my life when I felt very alone.

Never alone

Angels always watching over me.

Digital Art – Photoshop Artistry

Ever notice how many most photographs start to look the same after a while

I mean, how many photos of flowers have you seen? How many butterflies? How many interchangeable landscapes? How many near-identical “street photos?

With so many photographers out there, and with great cameras and editing software becoming more and more popular, the whole field of photography sometimes feels as if it’s becoming repetitive in the extreme. At worst, so much out there just feels … trivial or boring.

Which is why I’m so excited to FINALLY see something different. Something that can make your photography stand out. And even make you feel more excited about being a photographer than ever. Go have a look at this.

This changes everything.

I don’t know about you, but I can see this reinvigorating my love of photography (and real photo art) in a big way. The possibilities are endless, and can easily become the one thing setting you apart from all of the other photographers out there.Don’t miss it, have a look here:

I had dabbled in digital art for a while but was frustrated as I knew the look I wanted, but just couldn’t quite achieve it.

I had a bunch of apps I used but it was very hit and miss….where could I learn more….

Fortunately at this time I heard about a course called Photoshop Artistry, so I looked into it and looked at the work of its creator, Sebastian Michaels and I started to get excited.

Not only was it what I had been looking for but it had its own Facebook site to safely share your work and get help but also tutorials and resources including images I could use.

Since then I have gone from strength to strength, I still have a lot to learn but I am loving creating my own work.

if you want to begin creating some for yourself then have a look here for more details and a very special price.

To give you an insight into what its like I have done a short video on how I created one of my pieces. Have a look here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bl50MJD7daY

I think that describes how I feel, it is like my life has been ripped out from under me and I have been transported to a new house and a new life. A life that revolves around cancer.

My husband has a rare form of Leukemia which there is no cure for, but, they give you chemo in the hope that it will prolong your life….but at what cost…. every 28 days we start anew chemo round of two injections every day for 7 days, his stomach becomes red, bruised, too sore to touch and his appetite has gone, food has no taste and this is just the start…..then on top of that 2 chemo tablets a day, after the chemo injections he is so tired that he sleeps most of the time, he is fatigued and I watch him fade before my eyes.

So far the last two months we have then gone in for him to have blood transfusions, then he picks up, just starts to feel better and wham we start all over again……how long for… forever….this is our life from now until he dies……we are hoping and praying that after the first 6 months he may pick up a bit and have a little quality of life….we hope so.

I treasure every moment that he is a part of my life and I am so grateful that I have him in my life in whatever form that is so for this reason alone the treatment is worthwhile. If he was in pain and suffering more then I wouldn’t want that, but for now we can continue on and hope that the treatment is going to help. He is strong and isn’t ready to give up so that is promising. We appreciate all your thoughts and prayers at this time.

How do we go on….we take each day as it comes. On good days we enjoy the things we can do, on bad days we just focus on getting through. We make the most of the moments we get to share and try not to look too far into the future. We have some wonderful friends who are walking this journey with us whether they are here physically or just in spirit, you know who you are –  thank you so much, you are giving us the strength to get through this. Also God is a big part of us getting through, it is our trust in him that keeps us believing that whatever the outcome everything will work out as it is meant to, we don’t have to have the answers or be in control, we can let go and let God.

I am still out taking photos, I struggle to process them but I am continuing to try to create some digital art, even if it is to help me find some joy within this bleak landscape that has become our lives.

I have a peace that everything will work out, somehow, someway and it is this that keeps me going. So sorry there have not been many updates but as we adjust to this life I am sure I will be able to bring you more art and photography, tips and hopefully words of wisdom.

The tip for today is just to use your phone if you don’t have your camera and get lost in the moment and create some beautiful images. Try to pick a bouquet of joy each day,a Buddhist saying is, life has 10,000 sufferings and 10,000 joys, the sufferings seem to find us, but we have to look for the joys.

I love my photography and I love bringing the beauty of the outdoors to you in it’s pure form and you will see that in my landscape images and nature shots, however there is also a creative part of myself that likes to start with an image and create something completely different out of it.

A few of my early attempts got lots of good feedback. There is some here.

abstract art

Looking inside a cave and I felt a presence there, so tied to recreate the feeling with the swirling light and then used blend modes to create the final image.

Tunnel Creek

This is from Tunnel creek in Western Australia, I looked towards the entrance to the cave and saw the light and the rocks creating the figure of a woman and so the image was born.

This got me hooked and  I wanted to learn more, so I started an Photoshop Artistry course. This taught me new techniques for blending and composition images but I was still looking for more when I heard they also run an Awake course.

This course is about being awake in life and using your photography and art to bring that about. I was off and running.

Natural spa

This is a place I go to where I feel safe and protected, so I wanted to convey this feeling in the image of the beautiful pool

Jabiru eating

A Jabiru swallowing a fish it caught. This was one of two images that I wanted to create a artwork of to give the feeling of the marsh that it was in.

Hunting time

This was the first in the series of the Jabiru stalking the fish.

frog praying

This little fellow was on my back deck and it looked like he was praying that I just left him to his own devices. The deck didn’t match the iamge, so I created a background using another of my images and created a composite.

So finally I decided to step out even further…my challenge was to create something that could bring about change, a cause that meant something to you and then to create another piece that was just fun….

This is a cause close to my heart and be warned this can be quite confronting.

If any of these images triggers things in you then reach out to someone to help or give Lifeline a call on 13 11 14 in Australia or go to  arkofhopeforchildren.org

happy families

This depicts a family as we dream it to be, how many families look from the outside and it also shows the trust that the child has in the parents, this is what makes what follows so hard to fathom.

verbal or physical abuse

This is the second in the abuse series and shows what is often the first abuse a child suffers and that is parental abuse, be it physical or verbal and this is how it leaves them feeling.

self harm

This is the third in the series. Often a child who has suffered verbal, emotional or physical violence is looking for love and this is when the sexual predictor appears on the scene, they make the child or young teen feel special and loved so they are willing to sneak out and meet them, to keep them a secret. They are left broken and confused. They don’t understand how they can feel loved and used at the same time, how they feel that they are a bad person and deserve what they get. This often leads to suicide or self harm.

hate

This one represents domestic violence. This is usually the most aggressive and confronting and often the violence leads to murder.

courage

This is the forth in the abuse series f images, this one shows a woman finally taking the step to walk away from an abusive relationship

letting go

This is the final in the abuse series, It depicts a woman finally free to be what she was meant to be.

This was a very hard exhibition to put together as it looks at a side of society we try to turn away from, so after this I needed some healing therapy so created my fun peice.

It’s called In Full Swing and was recently published in the 17th edition of the Artistic Life Magazine.
