I love my photography and I love bringing the beauty of the outdoors to you in it’s pure form and you will see that in my landscape images and nature shots, however there is also a creative part of myself that likes to start with an image and create something completely different out of it.
A few of my early attempts got lots of good feedback. There is some here.
Looking inside a cave and I felt a presence there, so tied to recreate the feeling with the swirling light and then used blend modes to create the final image.
This is from Tunnel creek in Western Australia, I looked towards the entrance to the cave and saw the light and the rocks creating the figure of a woman and so the image was born.
This got me hooked and I wanted to learn more, so I started an Photoshop Artistry course. This taught me new techniques for blending and composition images but I was still looking for more when I heard they also run an Awake course.
This course is about being awake in life and using your photography and art to bring that about. I was off and running.
This is a place I go to where I feel safe and protected, so I wanted to convey this feeling in the image of the beautiful pool
A Jabiru swallowing a fish it caught. This was one of two images that I wanted to create a artwork of to give the feeling of the marsh that it was in.
This was the first in the series of the Jabiru stalking the fish.
This little fellow was on my back deck and it looked like he was praying that I just left him to his own devices. The deck didn’t match the iamge, so I created a background using another of my images and created a composite.
So finally I decided to step out even further…my challenge was to create something that could bring about change, a cause that meant something to you and then to create another piece that was just fun….
This is a cause close to my heart and be warned this can be quite confronting.

This depicts a family as we dream it to be, how many families look from the outside and it also shows the trust that the child has in the parents, this is what makes what follows so hard to fathom.
This is the second in the abuse series and shows what is often the first abuse a child suffers and that is parental abuse, be it physical or verbal and this is how it leaves them feeling.
This is the third in the series. Often a child who has suffered verbal, emotional or physical violence is looking for love and this is when the sexual predictor appears on the scene, they make the child or young teen feel special and loved so they are willing to sneak out and meet them, to keep them a secret. They are left broken and confused. They don’t understand how they can feel loved and used at the same time, how they feel that they are a bad person and deserve what they get. This often leads to suicide or self harm.
This one represents domestic violence. This is usually the most aggressive and confronting and often the violence leads to murder.
This is the forth in the abuse series f images, this one shows a woman finally taking the step to walk away from an abusive relationship
This is the final in the abuse series, It depicts a woman finally free to be what she was meant to be.
This was a very hard exhibition to put together as it looks at a side of society we try to turn away from, so after this I needed some healing therapy so created my fun peice.
